How to help?

You don't have to be an animal care expert to help pet shelters, you just need to be willing to help. Regardless of the previous experience you have dealing with animals, it is very likely that organizations can benefit from your help.

There are many ways to support pet shelters. Below, you will find a list of actions that you can do today to support our organizations and their pets.

  • The easiest and most direct way to help an organization is through financial donations, these donations make a big difference to their operations. Donating money is quick, easy, and allows shelters to use the money to cover their most urgent needs.

  • If you don't feel comfortable donating money, you can also donate pet food, hygiene items, sheets, toys. Our recommendation is that you first contact the shelter, tell them that you would like to make a donation and ask what their needs are. You can find the contact information for the shelters in our organization directory.

  • Contact a shelter and offer them your help in their day-to-day activities. Our shelters can always benefit from an extra pair of hands.

  • Visit a shelter to spend time with your pets (contact them before visiting). Yes, donating your time to play and spend time with pets is also a way to volunteer.

  • Are you good at taking pictures and you like animals? You can offer your time to photograph shelter pets. Having good photos of pets increases their attractiveness to potential adopters and improves their chances of being adopted.

  • Share on your social networks the pets that we publish on our website, you can visit the sections: Adopt a dog  and adopt a cat, find the pet that you like the most, share the link with your contacts.

  • Participate as a volunteer Be a pet foster home for one of our dogs and cats for adoption. If you like pets and have space available in your home, this is an excellent option to help.

  • Obviously, one of the best ways to help is by adopting a pet. If you are going to adopt you must be 100% sure of your decision, since it is a long-term commitment. Adopting is extremely rewarding, not only because of the love and affection that you will receive from your new pet, but also because with your decision you will be helping other pets for adoption, since you contribute to reducing the number of dogs and cats who live in the shelters, as well as by supporting the valuable work of these organizations.
